ATTN NEW YORKERS:

If you are not spending your NYE either with me (and my BFFS the zombie Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt (zombies because I recently had to kill 3/4 of them.)), getting completely insane with live mural-painting, six set/costume changes (I will, at one point, be a glam lava flow), live ice carving, asteroids, space ships, and breakfast in Bushwick at Shea Stadium BK

OR

Going until the year 2015 with [info]horrorvacuii and her sweet-ass gypsy family down at Mehanata (Because seriously, they will go all night, go to a diner, and then just keep going. I sometimes hope they will turn into the flying multi-generation party on a cloud from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe series.) on the LES

THEN YOU ARE WASTING THE END OF A PERFECTLY AMAZING/TERRIBLE/BORING/ETC DECADE.

Either way, there will be love, tears, a lot of booze, shouting, making out, and inevitably, a bloody guy or three, and no one else brings it like we do.

If you had to give up either chocolate or your mobile phone forever, which would you sacrifice?

hey so i usually just post here about things i've done but i felt like sharing about some cool stuff i've got recently, maybe you will like it too.

WARMER by Aidan Koch

this girl sure knows shit. the drawings are awesome, accurate lines that grab and put you inside of her eyeballs, seeing what she sees, and suddenly, crumbling apart or smudging in passion or peace.
this small comic doesn't have much of a story, i think it would be more of a poem with drawings. It's so cozy it'll have you reading it again and again. You can get one from aidan's etsy shop. She also dropped me in some extra stuff, which is something i really really love when I buy something from the impersonal INTERNET world.

BLACK MASS #1 by Patrick Kyle

patrick is one of the three woweezonkers and this is his solo debut comic........wait, if you havent heard of woweezonk i strongly suggest you go click here and buy their comic first!!!!! Anyway. In this comic, patrick's melty drawings drip drop in dumb stories about spells and the occult and punk and drunk puke. Anything that combines all that shit must be good, and this is good. So if you want one, go to this entry of their blog and send him in some of their wierd and mysterious canadian dollars.

MISEEN by Sarah Welch

this book may seem a bit expensive at first, but behold, it is worth it! This thing was printed in a huge format, comes with a hand painted drawing inside and is filled with chunky screenprinted drawings that illustrate the anecdotes of sarah as an almost blind being. Myself being a pretty blind one too, found this a very nice and funny way of showing people how is it to live in a world of assumptions.

MILKY WAY SHUFFLE by Chris "Elio" Eliopoulos

Elio makes really funny stuff for "all ages", meaning by this that his stories are simple, but not in any ways dumb. The drawings are awesome, and they will grab you and swallow you, dragging you through every page until you reach the last one, in which he will make you an awesome sketch just for you!
you can get one of this for real cheap at his website.

LOSE #1 by Michael Deforge

There is no way to describe this. it is just so good. other people have already reviewed this to death, so i can just say that, it is probably the best comic i've read in all the year. also, something you can't tell just by the beautiful previews deforge has in his website: the printing is awesome, the paper is super slick... that is always something that gives me an extra pleasure while reading something. get it now or else!

..........and i'm desperately waiting for Steve Wolfhard's cat rackham to be put in print!
it's just too good!

A group of poet guys contacted me to design the next four numbers of their magazine, Trifulca, and the first number I did is out! It's in duotone and contains 32 pages of poetry and short stories by young emerging authors from latin america. I did a lot of illustrations for it too. They pretty much let me do wahtever I wanted, so it was a nice gig. They picked the printer, which turned out to be really good.

They gave me a big bunch of them, so if you want one, just paypal me 3 usd at gatosaurio@gmail.com and i'll mail it to you with other misc things i can gather. And yes, it's all in spanish... so you can get practicing! haa

Ahi si gustan, escribanme a gatosaurio@gmail.com

"In the year 1588, Alison Pearson, in Byre-hills, Fifeshire, was convicted of practising sorcery, and of invoking the foul fiend; she acknowledged that she had been intimate with the Queen of Elfland for many years, and that she had many friends of her own kin in the Court of Fairy."

"His comic traits, and his jests, were neither taken from the language of the lower orders nor that of the comedians. He levied contributions on comic authors, on poets, orators, and philosophers; and in his impromptus we could recognize the thoughts of Seneca, Cicero or Montaigne; but he possessed the art of appropriating the maxims of these great men to himself, and allying them to the simplicity of the blockhead; and the same proposition which was admired in a serious author became highly ridiculous in the mouth of this excellent actor."
